The top seed Russian defeated the Indian in straight games 21-16, 21-11. Rahul had a great tournament as he entered the main round after winning the qualifying rounds and carried his momentum to the finals.
On his way to the finals he defeated higher ranked and top seeded shuttlers including 8th seed Takuma Obayashi and second seed Ruttanapak Oupthong.
