World Badminton Championships 2017: Sindhu trumps Yufei to face Okuhara in the finals

PV SINDHU keeps the hopes of a gold or silver medal alive as she reaches the finals of World Badminton Championships beating Chen Yufei in straight games 21-13, 21-10.

She has an amazing record against the Chinese shuttlers:

In the finals she will play Nozomi Okuhara from Japan. The head-to-head count between the two are levelled at 3-3 out of which last two wins went in favour of the Indian.

The 7th seed Japanese defeated the heavyweights like defending champion Carolina Marin and Silver medallist Saina Nehwal on her way to the finals. While Sindhu too had two Chinese stars (Sun Yu and Chen Yufei) in her way but the Olympic Silver medallist got the best out of them.

The 4th seed Indian has won bronze twice in the past at WBC, in 2013 and 2014. This is her best chance to better the colour of the medal.

Two of the best shuttlers have made it to the finals and expect nothing but a great fight between the two. Considering Sindhu's form where she has beaten shuttlers in straight games, she does hold a higher chance than the Japanese but this tournament was all about surprises so one will have to wait and watch.
