World Badminton Championships 2017: Saina settles with a bronze after losing in SF

SAINA NEHWAL started the match on a high bringing back her best performances from her early days but towards the end Japanese Nozomi Okuhara proved to be too good for the 12th seed Indian.

A three game battle out of which only one belonged to the Indian. 21-12, 17-21, 10-21.

The opening game displayed outstanding performance from Saina especially. It also saw 29 and 32 shots rally between the two that kept the fans on their toes.

Okuhara looked fatigued but her comeback in the following two games was phenomenal turnaround in the match to which Saina had no answer to.

Though the second game saw some tight situation, the final was dominated throughout by Okuhara as she ran away with points to claim a spot in the finals also becoming the first Japanese shuttler to enter the finals of WBC.

PV Sindhu will be seen in action later today.
