World Badminton Championships 2017: Srikanth, Saina, & Sindhu in QF

KIDAMBI SRIKANTH continues to shine at the World Badminton Championships as he enters the quarter-finals beating 14th seed Anders Antonsen 21-14, 21-18.

The 8th seed Indian didn't allow the Dane to get to him in the first game and ran away with points. But the second game saw Anders fight hard and put Srikanth under pressure, he didn't let that affect his game and kept calm.

He next plays top seed Son Wan Ho.

Saina Nehwal trumped 2nd seed Sung Ji Hyun in straight games 21-19, 21-15 to claim a spot in quarters while 4th seed PV Sindhu had a tough battle against 13th seed Ngan Cheung. Sindhu cameback strong after being down in the first game to win the following two 19-21, 23-21, 21-17.

Saina faces Kristy Gilmour in the quarters while Sindhu will be up against 5th seed Sun Yu.

It was all over for men's singles shuttlers Sai Praneeth and Ajay Jayaram as they lost to 6th seed Chou Tien 21-19, 10-21, 12-21 and 5th seed Chen Long 11-21, 10-21

Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy too ended their campaign as they went down fighting against 7th seeds Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto 22-20, 18-21, 18-21. Trailing in the initial stages of the first game, the 15th seeds Indian duo won it in great fashion. But the Indonesian pair fought back to win the second. The final game saw at par competition between the two but towards the end Pranaav/Sikki gave away points due to silly errors and eventually lost the match.
