ISL 2017: Dimitar Berbatov Ex-Manchester Utd star signs for Kerala Blasters FC
THE TIES OF THE COACH are really helping Kerala Blasters FC rope in some start names. Dimitar Berbatov, the Bulgarian striker and having played for renowned clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs joins the Kochi-based franchise.
It all started when KBFC appointed Rene Meulensteen as their head coach. Rene had been the first team coach at Manchester United and that tie helped him getting in the services of a number of the players like Wes Brown and experienced goalkeeper Paul Stephen Rachubka.

Berbatov, the latest addition with Man Utd connection, who played for the Red Devils and scored 48 goals in 108 Premier League appearances, winning two league titles. He has last played football in Greece in 2016 playing for PAOK Salonika.
Rene Meulensteen was a part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s coaching staff when Berbatov joined Manchester United. He also managed the Bulgarian at Fulham in 2013.
