Two Indians on the left flank are very good, I won’t name them: Mauritius Coach Francisco Filho

MAURITIUS PLAY THEIR FIRST GAME in the Tri-Nation series to be held in Mumbai from August 19.

The coach of the Mauritius national football team Francisco Filho was present at the pre-match press conference. Joining him also, was team player Jonathan Bru.

The replies of the coach and player were being translated and shared with the press via a translator.

Coach Filho expressed his gratitude towards India for inviting the team for a tournament in India and then went on to share his aim from the two games to be played in India. Filho said his team were here to learn about the footballing culture in India and get some exposure for his team.

On the assessments of both teams namely St. Kitts and Nevis and India, Filho said it was a difficult question to answer as he was not able to go through footages of both teams to know what their strengths are.

Mauritius coach was asked if he has heard of any Indian players and he dropped a subtle hint that he thought that two players on the Indian left wing were very good players without naming the players.

Jonathan Bru, the 32 year-old midfielder shared what he wishes to gain from playing games in India.

It was an honour to play for the country every single time. Also it was a good exposure as they have been playing with Africans countries and not Asian teams. With the experience from playing in India, he wished to take home new tactics to help the team grow as a unit.

The coach gave a brief insight of his team to be playing against India. He said,

Jonathan and his brother Kevin Bru along with other players have played in Europe so they bring in a lot of experience to the team, which is rather young team. The team also has players who have been born abroad like some born in France and Madagascar and some have even gone through the youth system of those countries and are now playing for Mauritius.
