Pro Kabaddi: Stellar Pardeep helps Patna Pirates comfortably overcome Bengaluru Bulls 46-32

PATNA PIRATES skipper Pardeep Narwal scored his third consecutive Super 10 to set up a comfortable 46-32 win over Bengaluru Bulls at the latter’s home venue in Nagpur. It was Bulls’ second defeat in two days.

The Bengaluru outfit had a good couple of minutes at the start as they lead 3-0 after sending Patna’s primary raiders Pardeep Narwal and Monu Goyat to the bench. However, Vinod Kumar rose to the occasion to revive the duo and take the score to 3-3 after close to 5 minutes in the game. The all-rounder delivered an impressive performance both in the attack as well as defence and he took home 7 points.

The Pirates soon returned the favor by sending the likes of Rohit Kumar and Ravinder Pahal to the bench and inflicting an All-Out in the 7th minute. Narwal continued his sublime form from the previous match as he kept picking a point from each of raids. Bulls’ skipper Rohit Kumar failed to get touch points in order to revive players as Patna inflicted second All-Out in the 14th minute. The Pirates ended the first half with a 12-point lead (23-11).  

Pardeep looked unstoppable as he continued to outmuscle and outwit the Bengaluru defence in the second half. The Bulls were inflicted with the third All-Out of the night within just 4 minutes. Although Pahal and Ashish Kumar fought hard and sent Pardeep to the bench, Patna defenders Vishal Mane and Vinod Kumar scored consecutive Super Tackles to crush Bengaluru’s revival hopes. 

Goyat and Narwal kept scoring in the dying minutes of the game to inflict the fourth All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls. The defending champions eventually won the game with a 14-point margin.

He raided in tandem with Monu Goyat to deny Bulls’ defenders any time to settle down in the game. He was adjudged as the ‘Star of the day’ for displaying near perfect running hand touches, anti-dubkis, and quick escapes.
