Dhoni, Smith & Stokes have taught me how to bowl under pressure, says Washington Sundar

IPL-10 WONDER KID, Washington Sundar has stated that he has learnt a lot from Rising Pune Supergiant teammates MS Dhoni, Steve Smith and Ben Stokes and that it is helping him in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

In Albert Tuti Patriots’ recent win against Ruby Trichi Warriors, Sundar picked two for 22 and made a significant contribution with the willow by scoring an unbeaten 49. The 17-year-old guided Patriots to a win over Dindigul Dragons in their inaugural game as he scored 69 and picked three for 34. Sundar was adjudged as the Man of the Match in both games. Speaking to a TNPL website, the promising youngster attributed his success to his recent IPL experience.

"It was very good. I played with a lot of star players like (MS) Dhoni, Steve Smith, (Ben) Stokes. I learnt how to approach different situations both on and off the field. I learnt a lot from them and I am finding that experience helpful in the TNPL as well.”

Sundar mentioned that the seniors in the RPS squad have helped him learn how to bowl in the right areas during pressure situations.

“I mostly learnt by just watching them play. They have helped me in bowling in the right areas and how to do well in pressure games."
