UP YODDHA, one of the four new franchises to be added to the Pro Kabaddi, have announced Nitin Tomar as captain for their debut season. The franchise also appointed Rishank Devadiga as the vice-captain.
Tomar emerged as the costliest player in the history of Pro Kabaddi as he attracted a record bid of Rs 93 lakh from the Yoddhas. The star raider wasn’t a part of the PKL in its initial two seasons. However, his impressive raids in the third and the fourth seasons drew eyeballs towards him.
In addition to Tomar, the UP think tank managed to acquire a handful of talented players at the auctions. Rishank Devadiga, who previously donned the U Mumba colors, joined the UP camp this season. Rishank was adjudged as the ‘Best Raider’ in season 3.
The Yoddhas will play their first game against Telugu Titans on August 1 at Hyderabad.
