#TFGinterview: Indian MMA fighter Farhan Siddique talks about his fight at CKF

INDIAN MMA FIGHTERS Farhan Siddique and Swapnil Barve fought at the CKF event in China recently. Farhan was pitted up against one of the most notable Chinese fighters, Honggang ‘The Master’ Yao in the main event of the fight night.

Farhan main-evented the CKF Fight night

Despite a good effort, Farhan suffered a defeat at the hands of Yao. After his return to India, we caught up with the Mumbai-based fighter for an exclusive interview where he talked about his fight with Yao, the problems he faced and much more. You can read what he said below.

On His fight at CKF:

The experience was outstanding. Our Dheeth fighters got to meet international fighters from all around the globe and shared our skills with them. As Indian fighters, we raised the tri color flag on a different land. My fight was the main event of the evening at CKF against Chinese star Yao. Swapnil also had knocked his opponent 3 times in the fight. But we need BJJ to update ourselves. We will come back stronger. As for my fight, the 2nd takedown was the major turning point of the night because after the takedown Yao, with best of his black belt BJJ skilled controlled me into the ground and tapped me with RNC.

His experience in China:

It was outstanding, we enjoyed their welcome. It was a little different. Because, in India, only RCP(Nasik) has done the event like this because the event has rings.

About sponsorships and support from gyms:

No one helped me in my journey. Only Mr. Nadeem Khan, Shezan Shaikh and Adil Khan helped me to go up there. Even my partner Swapnil Barve was not given any sponsorship from his gym.

Facilities in China:

It cannot be compared anymore because they are financially very strong & they train with black belts / red belts which are almost GODS in BJJ. We need update our training by going out to train....we don't have a gym and or any sponsorship people always look for benefits. In India AIMMAF has the power to go Pro like Brave like it was never before. India is rising we should start backing our fighters because they are the face of future India, by providing them MMA CAMP. Gyms and coach.

His future plans and message for other fighters:

I lost by submission so my major plan is to train harder in Indian wrestling with national and states champions and practice BJJ with, blue  Brown & black belts within or outside the nation.  As for the fighters out there, Keep training hard and smart always ask a question whenever you train in your dojo. Always speak truth .do good, be Dheeth, be Diaz.

Farhan, who currently works as a coach to children to meet his training and nutrition needs, concluded by saying that fans should avoid politics and people who are against the rise of fighters. He also added that media should focus on branding the fighters and thanked TFG MMA for letting him open up about the issues.
