THE FIASCO CONTINUES: Shastri gets Bangar as assistant, Bharat Arun as the bowling coach

JUST WHEN IT APPEARED that whole coach and support staff drama revolving the Indian cricket team would come to a close after Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan were asked to assist the new coach Ravi Shastri, the fiasco seems to be continuing.

A few hours ago, Shastri in a brief media gathering announced that Bharat Arun has been appointed as the bowling coach. On the other hand, Sanjay Bangar will assist Shastri and R Sridhar will continue as the fielding coach. Interacting with the media, Shastri explained how he wanted a core team to be with him right through the 2019 World Cup. 

Meanwhile, it appears that Dravid and Zaheer will only be roped in as consultants during overseas tours. It will be interesting to see how the BCCI responds on this.

The Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka for a full tour featuring 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and a T20. The tour will begin with the first Test on the 26th July.
