Canada GP: Indian campaign ends with Attri/Sumeeth & Pranaav/Sikki exit

DOUBLES SHUTTLERS Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy ended their campaign at the Canada Grand Prix after losing their quarter-final match.

Defending champions Attri/Sumeeth were trumped by Kim Won Ho/Seung Jae Seo 12-21, 15-21. 3rd seeds Indian duo couldn't continue the winning momentum and therefore failed to defend their men's doubles title.

Kim Won later paired up with his mixed doubles partner Shin Seung Chan to get the best out of 2nd seeds Indian pair Pranaav/Sikki. It was a tough three game battle between the two, 17-21, 22-20, 18-21. Losing the first game, the Indian duo came back strong to take the second game and push the match into a decider. But in the final game, the Korean pair was just too good and won the match to seal a place in the semi-finals.

With their exit, Indian participation ends at the tournament. Next challenge for these shuttlers will be USA Grand Prix Gold.
