THE GUJARAT FORTUNGIANTS is among the four new franchises to have brought more intensity and competition to the older eight-teamed format. During the PKL-5 auction, the franchise-owned by Adani Group built a fierce squad around Iranian stars, Fazel Atrachali and Abozar Mohajermighani. After securing the corner combination in the overseas duo, Gujarat acquired Sukesh Hegde to lead the raiding department.
Also, to provide further raiding options, the franchise roped in Mahendra Ganesh Rajput and Sachin for Rs 25 and Rs 36 lakh respectively. Having acquired a bunch of other young guns, the Gujarat management is unlikely to face lack of alternatives while planning team strategy.
