Indian MMA: Mother of two, Anjali Gupta Talks why she took up MMA
YODDHA FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP has kick-started a new campaign named ‘The Other Side’, which takes a look at the life of MMA fighters outside the cage.

The first feature in the campaign featured Anjali Gupta, who recently impressed at the Yoddha Fighting Championship. A single mother of two daughters, Anjali had the following to say:
"As a woman growing up in India it was the norm to be manhandled. I think many of us women have been at the receiving end of unwanted male attention and are brain washed to think "boys will be boys" or worse, that we ourselves did something to deserve it. This has always bothered and disturbed me to the core. Being in MMA has made me take this rage of unfairness, something so negative, to fuel my passion for the sport.”
She also went on to say that she wants an India where women are respected.
“Now, as a single mom of 2 daughters, it is my responsibility to raise two strong, courageous, strong women who will join me and stand up for themselves. Many people, including my own family don't realize why I do all that I do. My reasons are simple. I want an India where women are respected. I want an India where women are strong. I want an India where my daughters are free." She added.
