Khalid Jamil wants to bring Jayesh Rane, Ashutosh Mehta to East Bengal

KHALID JAMIL IS bringing with him a whiff of the I-League winning Aizawl FC side to East Bengal.

The veteran coach signed for the Red and Golds yesterday and asked the club's technical members to sign two players who have been with him for years now; Jayesh Rane and Ashutosh Mehta.

When Mumbai FC sacked Khalid Jamil, Rane and Mehta followed him to Aizawl FC. There, the two had immediate impact and played vital roles in helping the club charge to its maiden top division league title. Now that Jamil has moved to East Bengal, the two are expected to follow him to his new club again.

East Bengal have already picked up a few players from the Aizawl FC camp. Apart from Brandon and Lalramchullova, the Syrian international Mahmoud Al-Amnah has also moved from Aizawl FC to East Bengal. If Rane and Mehta also sign for the Red and Golds, it will mean East Bengal have picked up 5 players and the head coach from the reigning champions of India.
