KEVIN ANDERSON was ousted at the US Open by Stanislas Wawrinka and brought an end to a great run. Anderson did not fail to impress the fans present and also won many hearts in the tournament. He may be disappointed about the loss but when he had something to cheer as he was bestowed with the US Open Sportsmanship Award.

His best performances has been in the ongoing US Open and in Wimbledon in 2008 where he reached the quarters at both the events.

The South African's highest ranking was 58 in 2014 and his current ranking is 70 as of May 2015.

Commenting on Anderson being conferred the award USTA President and US Open Chairwoman Katrina Adams said,

"Of all the players on tour, Kevin consistently ranks among those who best embody respect and sportsmanship, even in the heat of competition, he is a tremendous role model and is deserving of this year’s US Open Sportsmanship Award.”
