Dravid questions Dhoni, Yuvraj's role and future in the Indian team

EVER SINCE MS DHONI gave up the limited overs captaincy, his place in the team, rather strangely has always been under the gun. Several former cricketers even questioned how the veteran wicket-keeper batsman would contribute to the national team.

Despite, Dhoni being the best keeper in the country and regularly helping current skipper Virat Kohli with the intricacies of the game, the speculations have never stopped.

And, after India's loss in the finals to Pakistan a few days ago, such talks have only gained more momentum. Now, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid too has joined in the debate and has raised doubts over Dhoni's role in the team. However, the Indian great has also questioned the value of Yuvraj Singh in the team.

As reported by espncricinfo, Dravid said,

"It is a call that is got to be taken by the selectors and the management. And what they see as the road map for Indian cricket, and where they see the role of both these cricketers going ahead for the next couple of years. Is there a place for both of them? Is there a place for only one of them?"

Dravid further explained the importance of giving the youngsters a chance in the upcoming ODIs against the West Indies.

"They have taken a decision to go to the West Indies with a full-strength squad. I really hope they are willing to experiment at least in the playing XI and give more opportunities to people."

Although Yuvraj's position could well be hanging by a thread, Dhoni is unlikely to feel any real pressure in the upcoming ODIs. Also, Rishabh Pant could only play as a batsman and we might see Dhoni continue doing the glove work for India in the Caribbean.
