Additional security forces deployed outside Dhoni’s house following defeat against Pakistan 

FOLLOWING INDIA’S defeat against Pakistan in the finals of the Champions Trophy, the Jharkhand government deployed extra security forces outside wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni’s residence in Ranchi. India suffered a 180-run defeat as the arch-rivals lifted their maiden ICC trophy. 

As the Indian citizens are known for their notorious behaviour, the Jharkhand officials sent a security team to protect the former India skipper’s house. Following the completion of the post-match presentation ceremony, ANI reported the news about the reinforcement. After India’s defeat to Australia in the WC 2003, angry fans had attacked the houses of the cricketers.  A similar incident had also occurred after their loss to Bangladesh in the opening match of 2007 WC.

Chasing 339 in the CT17 finals, India got bundled out for 158 runs in just 30 overs. Dhoni and Virat were dismissed for four and five respectively, as Hardik Pandya was the only batsman to manage a half-century.
