Steve Coppell to stay at Kerala Blasters

KERALA BLASTERS HAVE decided to retain their head coach Steve Coppell for ISL 2017-18.

The former Manchester City and Crystal Palace manager got KBFC off to a slow start last season but they recovered and finished second on the points table. They reached the final but lost to Atletico de Kolkata via penalties.

The Blasters want to build on that success and aim to have stable hands guiding the team, and that's why they have held onto Coppell's services.

The franchise faced a lot of criticism from its fans when it decided not to retain keeper-coach David James. Their performance suffered the following year and they do not want a repeat of that as ISL prepares for a longer season minus playoffs.
