Mohun Bagan repeat old demands from ISL after Executive Committee meeting regarding bid submission

THE MOHUN BAGAN Executive Committee meeting has produced a dud and the club officials don't appear to have come to any conclusions; they are only repeating their demands from ISL.

The club officials, after holding a meeting of the executive committee, came out and said they would play in the Indian Super League only if IMG-Reliance agree to their 3 key demands.

The Mariners' demands include a complete waiver of the Rs 15 crore franchise fee that ISL demands from all franchises, the right to play their home matches out of Kolkata which will override Atletico de Kolkata's contractual exclusivity over the city and a better share of the gate sales and the central sponsorship pool.

The officials they were taking steps according to the instructions of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who had earlier told the clubs "not to bow down" to IMG-R's pressure.

IMG-R has constantly maintained that they will not change any of the existing franchise bidding rules for East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

The last date of bid submission is tomorrow and East Bengal has said they will only submit their bid if Mohun Bagan do the same.

The club officials warned, if ISL does not listen to their demands they will launch a public movement against AIFF and IMG-Reliance.

This leaves the situation in the same limbo that has existed for almost a month now. And unless some solution is worked out in the next 24 hours the Kolkata clubs will not be a part of ISL 2017-18 season and keep playing in the I-League instead.
