Mohun Bagan write to AFC asking for more Asian slots in I-League

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MERGER JUST KEEPS getting more thrilling day after day. First there was a meeting of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan officials to discuss their the Kolkata clubs entry into the proposed top division. The meeting turned into something that goes beyond everyone's expectation that was looking like both Indian Super League and I-League would run simultaneously but the meeting showed a different picture. Thanks to Mohun Bagan revealing to the press about the points of meeting that were discussed and also the reply from the AIFF on those points.

Only yesterday, FSDL, the body that runs the ISL asked for bids to allow two to three new teams in the next season of the ISL. Today, reports say that Mohun Bagan has writen to the AFC asking them to reserve two spots for India in the club continental tournaments that is the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League for the national division league meaning the I-League. The letter also requested AFC to look in the letter what Praful Patel has shared in their meeting.

East Bengal who have been with the rivals in the fight to give them a place in the national league which it be, may also be persuaded to follow Mohun Bagan step to write to the AFC. This just puts AFC into the mix to address the issue or rather the sort the unclarity that is happening in the country pertaining to having two tournaments happening at national level.
