Shashank Manohar to continue as ICC chairman till June 2018

SHASHANK MANOHAR will continue to serve as the chairman of the ICC till June 2018, when his term ends.

The former BCCI chief had earlier issued a resignation from the ICC top job in March, this year. However, it was rejected by the board members of the global body and he was given an extension till June 2017. As reported by ESPNCricInfo, Manohar had stated that his request to step down had nothing to do with his relation with the Indian cricket board.

“It has nothing to do with the ICC functioning or these issues which are going to come up. Personal reason means genuinely personal. And I don’t lie.”

BCCI is at loggerheads with the ICC over the latter’s decisions relating to revenue sharing and two-tier structure. And, it also delayed the announcement of India's squad for upcming Champions Trophy. India missed the April 25 deadline and picked the team on May 8.
