We can break into top four, but are only taking one game at a time: Amit Mishra

DELHI DAREDEVILS chased Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 186 with nearly an over to spare and claimed a six-wicket over the visitors at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Following their impressive win, DD leggie Amit Mishra expressed his delight over producing their first win in six games. As reported by CricketCountry, Mishra showered praise on both batting as well as bowling units.

“We are going match by match and are very positive. We all know now that we have got a very good team. It’s just about the click, and we clicked today in both batting and bowling. We are still struggling with the fielding a bit, as it was not good and up to the mark today. However, we are positive as we are covering all the areas, and just need to stay positive from hereon. At one point, our batting was not clicking. It has done so in Pune when we scored 200 runs. So if the batting clicks, the bowling has been always better for us.”

Mishra, who bowled economically and claimed Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket, believes that his side has the chance of breaking into the top four if they stay positive and focus on one game at a time.

“We still have a chance to qualify we if we win our next five games. We are not concerned if we are playing at home or away, but are taking it match by match. Our preparation for today’s match was good, and now we shift focus to the next game. We will think on the areas that we could improve, especially fielding, which saw a few lapses today. We will have to make sure to not repeat the same mistakes as it could cost us during the crucial times. We are not thinking too far ahead either.”

Speaking about his bowling, the 34-year-old said,

“My bowling is always wicket-taking bowling. If you take wickets in any format, it pressurises other teams. Today, I mixed my pace, but I am disappointed as I should have taken one or two more wickets. Nevertheless, I bowled well and I am very happy that my team has won as we take it forward from here.”
