Karnataka’s Ronit More to ply his trade for Himachal Pradesh

KARNATAKA FAST BOWLER Ronit More has shifted loyalties from his home state. The pacer will now be playing for Himachal Pradesh in the upcoming domestic season.

How often does one man’s loss become another man’s gain? Karnataka’s problem of plenty has forced young Ronit More to move to Himachal Pradesh, after the bowler wasn’t getting enough chances.

“I wanted to play more games. I wasn’t getting many chances here in Karnataka – obviously because there are so many good fast bowlers,” More told The Hindu, as published by Wisden India.

More, who represents the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, is currently playing for Mangalore United in KPL Season 4. He is now the third player from Karnataka to have initiated a move to another team for better opportunities.

“The competition is very healthy here. Hence, I decided to move. I have completed the NOC formalities. They offered me regular matches in Himachal Pradesh. My goal is to play there for a couple of years, do well, and hopefully return to the Karnataka camp,” he added.

More made his List A debut for Karnataka in 2012, and was immediately noticed by critics, thanks to his career-best figures of 6-18 against Goa at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. Apart from being in Karnataka’s domestic mix, More has also played a couple of T20 games for his franchise in last year’s IPL.

More’s transfer to Himachal comes right after the moves of Virender Sehwag and Mithun Manhas to Haryana and J&K respectively. The Ranji trophy season starts on October 1, and HP will start their campaign against J&K on October 8.
