DD has the mind-set and belief to bounce back in the tournament, says Samson

AFTER SUFFERING a seven-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils were pushed to the bottom of the IPL 10 rankings table. Having won just two games in seven matches, DD are placed below seventh ranked RCB.

Although the chances of making it to play-offs have gone down, DD batsman Sanju Samson believes that his side possesses the mind-set and the belief to bounce back in the league. As reported by IndianExpress, the promising batsman said,

“In a sport like cricket, failure is more than success. As a sportsperson, we all know how to come back from failure. We need to keep going. Life also has a lot of failures and we have doubts. But we need to have the faith and belief. We need to go with a positive mind-set. It’s difficult but that’s the beauty of the game. We would love to challenge ourselves and move positively.”

Delhi’s batting line-up has young Indian names like Samson, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Samson feels that it is great learning curve for the unit to train under mentor Rahul Dravid.

“Each and every youngster is lucky to be part of this team. It’s a great opportunity to be playing in IPL. Being with Rahul sir, the youngsters like us learn a lot. He always backs us. That’s a great thing to have. We just want to perform and win matches for him.”

DD will play their next game against KXIP on April 30 in Punjab.
