We got tricked into the two-paced wicket at Indore, says Stuart Binny

KINGS XI PUNJAB hammered Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight wickets in the eight match of IPL 10, held at Holkar stadium.

Winning the toss and batting first, RCB rode on the late heroics of AB de Villiers and reached a total of 148. However, the Punjab batsmen achieved the target in just 14.3 overs. While Hashim Amla struck an unbeaten 58, Manan Vohra and Glenn Maxwell scored 34 and 43 respectively. As reported by CricketCountry, Binny conceded that his side did not out enough runs on the board.

“I just think we didn’t put enough runs on the board, especially when you win the toss and look to bat, I think 148 was just not enough upfront.”

Speaking about the first innings, Binny said that the wicket was a bit two-paced.

“I think in the innings that we batted first, I think the wicket was a bit-two pace, especially the ball that was bowled crossed seam held into the wicket.”

When asked about the changes made in the squad, Binny said that not getting a hold of the game in the initial overs of the match made all the difference.

“I don’t think we played any combination wrong, I just think upfront it is important how you start in the first 6 in a T20.”

The 32-year-old defended RCB’s decision to bat first and attributed the dew of its bowling failure.

“We thought that with grass on the wicket the ball would come on better which it didn’t. Only after the dew came in, the dew was pretty evident on this ground, the ball started to skit more on the wicket.”
