Brave 5: Paulo Bananada Silva to compete at the event

Brave Combat Federation has announced Brazilian MMA Veteran and sparring partner to UFC legend Anderson Silva, Paulo "Bananada" Gonçalves Silva to be featured in the fifth edition of the promotion set in India.


Paulo Bananada Silva to compete at Brave Combat Federation in Mumbai

The veteran from Brazil was scheduled to headline in Brazil, however due to a knee injury he had to pull out of the event. Paulo has a strong fanbase in Mumbai, since he was active in promoting MMA in India during his previous tours to India. This will be for the first time Paulo is competing in Indian soil. The veteran from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has won 22 times out of his 33 appearances.

Training at the famous X-Gym camp, alongside Anderson Silva, Paulo won his last fight, in January, against Nilson Pereira. He will be facing Alejandro Martinez from Mexico.

The fighter from Tijuana, is training at Entram Gym in preparation against Bananada. Both athletes are known for their aggression. While Paulo edges Alejandro in ground game through his highly evolved Jiu Jitsu skills. 

"Fighting in India is a dream come true. I could not imagine this during my past visit to India that an MMA event or promotion of such size and investment will choose India. It is the progress in sport and overall economic growth of the nation that is attracting such opportunities. Indian fans are some of the most passionate. I love to compete before them and I am waiting to win and celebrate with my friends in India, truly the Indian way." said Paulo Bananada.  

The event will be held on Sunday, April 23 at Mumbai, in the Dome Stadium of National Sports Club of India.
