Shreyas Iyer to remain out of DD camp for a week due to chickenpox

DELHI DAREDEVILS has suffered another setback ahead of the upcoming 10th edition of IPL as Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out for at least one week due to chicken pox.

As reported by PTI, Iyer has left the DD camp and is recuperating from his illness in Mumbai. And, the 22-year-old is expected to take around a week before he starts training again. His absence from the squad is a big worry because the franchise has already lost the services of overseas recruits JP Duminy, Quinton de Kock and Angelo Matthews. The Sri Lankan all-rounder is expected to remain out for a better part of the cash-rich event.

Iyer, who had a successful run for the franchise in 2015, had delivered a subdued performance in 2016. However, he looked in a good run of form in 2016-17 after being the highest run getter for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy apart from scoring a double hundred against Aussies in a warm-up game. The Mumbai-lad had also earned his maiden call-up in the Test squad, even though he did not make it to the playing XI.
