Hyderabad set to hold the finals of IPL 10

THE BCCI HAS ANNOUNCED that the final of the 10th edition of the IPL will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Hyderabad on May 21.

The nearly two-month-long tournament will get underway on April 5, where defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on IPL 9’s finalist Royal Challengers Bangalore. The IPL 2017 is set to follow the same format where a team finishing in the top two gets two shots at qualifying for the final, while the teams finishing third and fourth need to win an eliminator and a qualifier to reach the final. As reported by Cricketcountry, the BCCI stated,

“A reserve day is available for the Final but not the other three playoff matches.”

It is learnt that the qualifier 1, which will feature the top two teams from the league stage, will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. And, the only eliminator, where the third team will face the fourth team from the group stage, will be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Also, the second qualifier, which will witness a match between the winner of the eliminator and the loser of the first qualifier, will be held at Bengaluru.

The qualifier 1, eliminator, qualifier 2 are scheduled to be held on May 16, 17 and 19 respectively.
