Conor McGregor will not retire after fight with Floyd Mayweather, says Coach

Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a fight that is yet to be confirmed. Despite this lack of clarity, the MMA community is buzzing as though it is going to happen sooner or later.

Conor is here to stay

One topic that was discussed widely revolves around the potential retirement of Conor McGregor after the fight. The big money showdown could lure McGregor out of MMA according to some fans but McGregor’s Coach John Kavanagh suggests that it’s a different story.

“Like any sport there’s a sell-by date. But Conor is 28, he’s a baby in the sport. I look at Bernard Hopkins who’s 50, winning world title fights, so Conor isn’t going anywhere soon.” Kavanagh told in a recent interview.

Kavanagh also mentioned that Conor would be away from the limelight once he hangs up his gloves as he is not someone that goes behind the stardom.
