DD FOREIGN ASSETS: All-rounders galore for Delhi, but injuries could play havoc

THE DELHI DAREDEVILS had finished sixth in the ninth edition of the IPL. The franchise is yet to clear the semi-final/playoff hurdle, having made it to that spot thrice before. Players have been bought, retained and released but the franchise still continues to float in the bottom half of the table.

Ahead of the IPL 2017 players auction, the franchise let go off overseas players like Nathan Coulter-Nile, Imran Tahir and Joel Paris. Under the mentorship of former India skipper Rahul Dravid, DD retained the likes Jean-Paul Duminy, Chris Morris, Quinton de Kock, Carlos Brathwaite and Sam Billings. With Rs 23.10 crore in the purse and a squad strength of 18-players, the franchise acquired nine players. The list included five domestic players and four foreign players in the names Kagiso Rabada, Patrick Cummins, Angelo Mathews, Corey Anderson.
