HOMECOMING for Aiborlang Khongjee as he is back to Shillong Lajong. The former captain of Shillong was last seen playing for the Indian Super League (ISL) side Mumbai City FC.

He has begun his training with his north-east club and is likely to play against East Bengal on 4th March. The 29-year-old has played for the national team too and was part of the winning team that clinched SAFF Championship in 2015-16. He is also the only second Shillong product after Rocus Lamare to represent the country.

Aibor is happy to be back at his club,

"I am happy to be back in Lajong this year for the third consecutive I-league season. The team is currently doing well and it is very nice to see many youngsters playing very good football. I will do everything I can to help the team finish in good position this season and I wish to see all the fans come out to support us in the remaining matches at home," said to The Northeast Today.

Coach Thangboi Singto too is ecstatic to have him back,

"Aibor’s presence will surely help strengthen our young and talented defence. I hope that he will contribute to the team by giving good performances and be a mentor to our young players."
