PRE-MATCH QUIPS: All players are available; Santosh Kashyap denies player sacking

AT THE PRE-MATCH press conference, Mumbai FC Coach took questions before the game against Minerva Punjab FC today.

Mumbai FC has lost the fixture played at Minerva Punjab's home ground earlier in the season. Asked how different was the team shape now that Mumbai had all four foriegners in the squad. Kashyap answered saying,

"Excellent I believe. We were in a very bad phase, when we lost to them. We could have won the game but we could not play with our abilities and capabilities. Away games are always challenging"

He continued,

"We have come very well after that. Drawn two games after 6 losses. Everyone including me are feeling confident that we did well. We could have won against Mohun Bagan in the first half itself. They were strong opponents, I believe. We got enough time to prepare for this game and feel confident that we can win"

Kashyap was asked to share the players who would be unavailable for selection for the game tonight. He said there the entire squad was fit and avaliable for selection.

Densill Theobald, Mumbai FC player accompanied the coach at the press conference. He was adjudged Hero of Match in the last game against Bengaluru FC.  Asked about what hiswas feeling after joning the squad and how he was planning to approach the remaining games. He shared saying,

"First of all, it was a difficult start for me. Not because it was a new environment but because of the time zone difference from the region I came from. It took me around three weeks to adjust amd after that it was smooth sailing"

He continued,

"Now I am much more confident, feeling much better, know my team mates well and know their game and it's easier for me to gel. I must continue with the performance of the last two matches and work towards the club objective that is to finish in the top three. And it is not beyond us, if some good results come in our favour and we will be back in the thick of things"

On the recently reported news that a few of Mumbai FC players were sacked from the team, Kashyap was asked to shed light on this topic and he did by saying the reports are not true.

Mumbai FC were going through the worst form in history and goals are coming as plenty as expected. Kashyap had made it clear that only the performers would make it to the team.  Asked if Santana Robinho was released after playing just one game for the same under performance reason, Kashyap answered saying,

"Robinho was injured and could not cope up. He came and was unfit then he got injured on the calf muscles. He would take long to recover so he was released"
