Manish Pandey believes Chris Woakes and Trent Boult will be add more depth to KKR

INDIA BATSMAN Manish Pandey, who is a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the IPL 2017, believes that the franchise’s new recruits Chris Woakes and Trent Boult will prove to be really good during the cash-rich league, starting April 5.

During the recent IPL Player Auction held in Bengaluru, the Kolkata franchise acquired England’s Woakes and New Zealand’s Boult for Rs. 4.2 crore and Rs. 5 crore respectively. Pandey, who is playing for Karnataka in the upcoming Vijay Hazare trophy told IANS that KKR’s decision to rope in quality all-rounders will stand them in the good stead.

"These two players, Woakes and Boult, will be really good. It will be good help to have all-rounders like them. These two players will make a lot of difference for us."

The middle-order batsman is set to face MS Dhoni led Jharkhand at the Eden Garden on February 25. Speaking about the upcoming fixture, Pandey said that it is a boon to get to play on and understand the behaviour of the Eden track ahead of the tenth edition of IPL.

"It's like coming back home. The conditions don't really change that much unless it's a different wicket. Before the IPL, it will be a good start here to see how the wicket is behaving and then take it forward from there."
