Bellator 172 results: Freire knocks out Thomson in the main event

BELLATOR 172 might not be remembered for good reasons but the show did deliver some good fights. In the main event, Patricky Freire knocked out Josh Thomson in the second round with punches. The fight filled in for the cancelled fight between Fedor Emelianenko vs. Matt Mitrione.

In the co-main event Cheick Kongo defeated Oli Thompson via unanimous decision to continue his good run. Antoly Tokov also secured an impressive win over Francisco France via TKO in the second round.

The scheduled main event between Fedor and Mitrione was cancelled just before the start of the fight card which took place at the SAP Center.
