IPL 2017 player auction: Good, bad & a few shocking buys from Bangalore

IN MANY WAYS, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 Player Auction was atypical from its previous nine outings. The auction saw some frenzied bidding for some lesser known players and at the same time also saw no takers for famous names.

Amidst intense bidding wars, a total of 66 players were sold with Rs 91.15 crore spent on them. Surprisingly, two Afghanistan players were roped in among 27 overseas players in Bengaluru today.

While Ben Stokes going towards Rising Pune Supergiants for Rs 14.5 crore remained as the highlight, sale of uncapped players like T Natarajan, K Gowtham too turned a lot of eyeballs. In all, a total of 30 uncapped Indian players were purchased during the mega event.

And here, we take a look at the good, bad and some surprising moments from today's auction.
