India go down fighting against Thailand in the quarters of BAMTC

TEAM INDIA ousted from the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship after going down against Thailand in the quarters 2-3 on Friday in Vietnam.

Mixed doubles duo Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy couldn't find their rhythm this tournament as they failed to register a win. They began the campaign and lost to Savitree Amritpai/Dechapol Puavaranukroh 25-23, 10-21, 10-21.

HS Prannoy is slowly finding his winning formula as once again he stepped up to the responsibility and levelled the scores with his win over Suppanyu Avihingsanon 21-18, 21-15. The men's doubles duo Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy doubled the lead by defeating Kittinupong Kedren/Nipitphon 21-18, 21-16.

But unfortunately the lead broken as Rituparna Das lost a hard-fought match against Pornpawee Chochuwong 21-11, 12-21, 15-21. With the scores levelled at 2-2, all eyes were on Ashwini Ponnappa/Sikki Reddy who were up against World No. 10 pair Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai.

After winning the first game 15-21, the Thai pair came back stronger to win 21-17 to push the match into a decider. And it didn't trouble higher ranked pair much as they won with ease 21-7 taking their team Thailand into the semi-finals.
