Taufik Hidayat's coach Mulyo Handoyo to now train Indian shuttlers at the Gopichand academy

TOP INDONESIAN COACH Mulyo Handoyo who is known for his heroics coaching one of the best shuttlers in badminton, Taufik Hidayat will now be coaching Indian shuttlers at the Pullela Gopichand academy in Hyderabad.

He will be concentrating on the singles players at the academy. He led Taufik to his Olympic and World Champion title.

Talking to TOI, Mulyo said that he is happy to be here.

"Indians are doing very well now. They have several top ranking players. Gopichand had done some good work in building a system here. I am very excited to help the Indians."

The national chief coach Gopichand is happy too with his arrival at the academy,

"We already have a doubles coach in Tim Han Her and now Mulyo joined us. It will be helpful as I can now concent rate better. I am very confident that these appointments will bring better results for us in the future."

Mulyo is confident of making his contribution count,

"I am a professional coach and my aim is to help in the growth of badminton. I have a three-year contract with the Indian team and I am confident of making a good contribution to the team."
