Delhi Daredevils call Mohit Ahlawat for trials after his 300 in a local T20 match

DELHI DAREVEILS have called up youngster Mohit Ahlawat following his sensational triple hundred in a local T20 match.

The 21-year-old became an overnight sensation after he scored an unbeaten 302 off just 72 balls in the Friends Premier League, a Delhi local tournament, for Maavi XI against Friends XI. Mohit’s staggering innings involved 14 fours and 39 sixes.

Mohit helped Maavi XI post a massive 416, a record total in any T20 game. It is learnt that the youngster’s never-seen-before innings came in a 40-yard field. Mohit, who is coached Sanjay Bhardwaj, also childhood coach of Gautam Gambhir and Unmukt Chand, confirmed that Mohit received a call to attend the trial.

“Mohit got a call from Sunil Walson and was asked to go for the trial. I am keeping my fingers crossed. If he keeps calm, he can definitely impress them. Even though he might come across as an attacker from his latest record, he has a sound technique. On top of that, he is also a wicket-keeper.”

As reported by CricNext, Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua also confirmed that development,

“Yes, Mohit has been called for trials. We keep tapping young talent and scouting future stars. Walson will be there to keep an eye on the whole process.”

However, the Delhi-lad made it clear that his ultimate goal is to don the national colors.

“The ultimate goal is to play for India as every other player who starts playing the game and I hope I live upto that potential.”
