Injury concerns bother Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen ahead of crucial Aizawl tie

MOHUN BAGAN HEAD COACH Sanjoy Sen has been thrown off balance due to an unprecedented amount of injuries that may leave him with seriousy limited options in tomorrow's match against Aizawl FC.

The team's star winger Sony Norde has a knee injury which kept him out of the AFC Cup qualifier away leg against Colombo FC. But despite the rest he is yet to be fully. Sanjoy Sen said about Sony,

"He is struggling and there is a big question mark on whether Norde will play or not."

While the decision on Norde has been left pending till tomorrow morning, there are other injury concerns that are still bothering the Bagan coach. Kean Lewis, the replacement left winger for Norde, picked up an injury in the Colombo game soon after scoring a goal. He underwent an MRI scan today and reportedly has been told to take a week's rest.

Eduardo Ferreira, a major defender in the Bagan team, is also likely to miss out due to injury. Others like defender Raju Gaikwad, striker Balwant Singh and first choice keeper Debjit Majumder is also down with an injury. A worried Sen told reporters,

"This is the first team in Mohun Bagan history that we have injuries in so many positions besides the goalkeeper."

Similar injury concerns led to Bagan dropping a number of points, which ended up causing them to lose out on the I-League title race to Bengaluru FC. The Mariners gaffer is even more inclined not to field a player without being fully assured that they are fit because in the next 2 weeks Bagan will play Colombo FC in the second leg of the AFC Cup qualfiers and East Bengal in the season's first Kolkata Derby.
