Saina in semis while Ajay ousted from Malaysia GPG

TOP SEED SAINA NEHWAL sails into the semi-finals of Malaysia Grand Prix Gold after a comfortable victory over eighth seed Fitriani Fitriani 21-15, 21-14.

Saina was down in the first game in the initial stages but after the interval she got back series of points to her name to win the game. The second game was an easy win for the former World No. 1.

She will now face 5th seed Yip Pui Yin from Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, sixth seed Ajay Jayaram's winning run was ended by an old foe, Ginting Anthony who always gets the best out of the Indian.

Once again, the Indonesian played gave an effortless performance, winning in straight games 21-13, 21-8.

This leaves Saina as the lone Indian shuttler in the semi-finals.
