Felt like I played one of the best innings of my career, says Yuvraj

YUVRAJ SINGH’S SPECTACULAR 150 and MS Dhoni’s matured 134 guided team India to a 15-run win against England at Cuttack. It was Yuvraj’s second game after being recalled in the team, courtesy of an impressive domestic performance.

The southpaw had last scored an ODI ton six years ago, during a World Cup fixture against West Indies in Chennai. The recently-wed veteran batsman rolled back the years to pile his career best in a series-clinching effort. As reported by PTI, Yuvraj, who earned the Man of the Match award, termed his innings as one of the best of his career.

"Probably, one of my best innings. The last time I got a hundred was the 2011 World Cup. I am very happy with the innings. We were trying to get a partnership. I just wanted to play down the ground and not take much risk. I have been hitting the ball well in the whole domestic season."

Yuvraj also revealed that he had told India batting coach Sanjay Bangar that he was going to go for the big shots.

"I had a word with Sanjay Bangar, I told him the way I am hitting the ball I will go big. With the five fielder rule, mid-on, mid-off is up, the wicket was not (helpful) for the seamers after the first 10 overs.”
