NOT INTERESTED: Sehwag turns down KXIP's head coach offer

VIRENDER SEHWAG has turned down Kings XI Punjab’s offer to take assume the franchise’s head coach role. However, the former India opener has decided that he will continue in his role of director-cum-mentor.

Team India batting coach Sanjay Bangar, who is the head coach of the Punjab franchise, had earlier decided to not renew his contract for the tenth edition of the cash-rich league. As reported by Mumbai Mirror, the franchise is looking to hire someone who has done well in Indian domestic circuit as their head coach.

It was widely speculated that Sehwag may take over the head coach role after Bangar decided to step down. Kings XI Punjab, who have been languishing at the bottom of the points table in the past two season, will now have to hunt for a new head coach ahead of IPL 2017.
