Super Fight League 2017: Teams, format, venue and weight classes
SUPER FIGHT LEAGUE IS ALL SET TO MAKE A RETURN this year and that too in a new format. The new team-based tournament announced by SFL has been making waves in the MMA circle and the fans have been curious about how it would shape up.
SFL will be boasting eight teams this year with them being split into two groups.

Each team will be having six fighters (five male fighters, one female fighter).
There will be six back-up fighters as well with the fighters being spread across the following categories.
Male
- Bantamweight (125-135 pounds)
- Featherweight (135-145 pounds)
- Lightweight (145-155 pounds)
- Welterweight (155-170 pounds).
- Light Heavyweight (185 – 205 pounds)
Female
- Women’s flyweight (115-125 pounds)
The event will start on January 20, 2016 and all the fights will be held in Delhi for the time being.
“We are looking at a single venue to host all the matches and Delhi has been identified as that venue. Going further, we would love to expand to multiple cities.” SFL COO Rajesh Mehta told in a recent interview.
