UFC 207 Results: Nunes destroys Ronda Rousey, Cody Garbrandt crowned new champion
THE LAST UFC PAY-PER-VIEW OF 2016 is in the books. The much hyped return of Ronda Rousey ended in horrible fashion for the former champion as Amanda Nunes finished her in just 48 seconds to retain the gold.
Ronda had no chance from the start itself as Amanda landed some vicious punches early on. Ronda failed to recover from this start and the referee called in for a stop within the first round. With the win, Nunes becomes only the second woman to successfully defend the Bantamweight title with Rousey being the other.
Nunes went on to give a memorable promo after the fight and said that she is here to stay. Elsewhere, Cody Garbrandt toyed with Dominick Cruz in an instant classic and became the new UFC Bantamweight champion.
Garbrandt surprised everyone with his game plan and cockiness and got a win via unanimous decision. The fight was filled with exciting moments and most of it came thanks to Garbrandt who was mocking Cruz.
TJ Dillashaw had a dominating win as well over John Lineker. TJ seemed better than ever and steam rolled through Lineker who struggled from the first round itself. Below are the complete results:
