Chhetri wants Bengaluru FC to win AFC cup; says this I-League season would be difficult & challenging

SUNIL CHHETRI, captain of defending champions Bengaluru FC said that he would like to better his team's performance by winning the AFC Cup title.

Addressing the crowd at the I-League 2016-17 season launch in Delhi, he said,

"This time, we would be a little over ambitious and go and win the AFC Cup title. That is something on my mind. Reaching the final was an absolute dream. One think we know is that we are capable of reaching the finals."

Talking about the upcoming I-League season, Chhetri said,

"It is going to be different and definitely difficult. The new teams like Minerva are not here to just participate but to win. All the teams look promising and it will be a tough competition."

He further added,

"In our first season nobody expected us to win but we did. This time around we can call ourselves as title contenders since we are the defending champions. We will give our best, try and win more matches and concede less goals. Let's see where we go from there on."
