Wedson scores in pre-season friendly, starts his East Bengal stint in good note

WEDSON ANSELME, the Haitian striker who has just joined East Bengal, got his stint at the Red and Golds off in style when he scored as well as got two assists in a pre-season friendly match at Siliguri.

The former teammate of Mohun Bagan's star winger Sony Norde at Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi and Haiti national team, Wedson got an early goal and helped Jiten Murmu and Prohlad Roy get assists in the first half. East Bengal won the game 3-0.

Wedson was the Red and Gold's first foreigner signing of the season. Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenya later joined their squad. Two more overseas signings are yet to be made.
