Knee injury to keep Shami out of ODI and T20 series against England

INDIA PACEMAN Mohammad Shami is set to miss the ODI and T20 series against England next year, due to his right-knee injury. Shami, who was ruled out of the five match Test series against England following the third match, is likely to remain out of action for more than a month.

As reported by TOI, the selection committee is likely to rope in veteran pacer Ashish Nehra to fill Shami’s spot in the team. It is understood that Shami’s place in the squad could go to Ishant Sharma.

The UP-lad had suffered a left knee surgery in the past, however, currently he is undergoing a recovery of his left knee.

Apart from Shami, India opener Rohit Sharma too is going to miss the ODI series against England. It is learnt that Sharma will likely be replaced by Shikhar Dhawan in the upcoming series.

India will play three ODIs and three T20s against England, starting January 15.
