Chennai City FC looking to get Ravanan, Nallappan and Ganesh on board

CHENNAI CITY FC HAVE MADE it clear that they are committed to growing local talent in the long run. Taking steps towards that the club is signing some players with local roots.

The club was trying to get defenders Dharmaraj Ravanan and Mohanraj Nallappan and Dhanpal Ganesh on board. Speaking to the Indian Express, clubs sources said,

“We are in talks with both Ravanan and Ganesh right now. Talks are progressing well. We hope to get the deal wrapped up by next week. Mohanraj is also on the radar and likely to come.”

Dharmaraj Ravanan the defender having plied his trade with notable clubs like Churchill Brothers, Mohun Bagan, Dempo and now defunct Mahindra United. Ravanan is also part of FC Pune City playing in the Indian Super League.

Ravanan commented when asked about the prospect of playing  for Chennai City saying,

"My agent is speaking to a few clubs. But Chennai City FC is first in my list of priorities. I have always dreamed of playing for an I-League club from my home state. Talks are going on and I hope they end well.”

Defender Mohanraj revealed that he is yet to be approached from the team saying

“There has been no official contract yet. But I am definitely interested in playing for Chennai and I know they are interested as well. So hopefully, I’ll get to play in front of my home fans in the I-League this year.”

Defensive midfielder Dhanpal Ganesh has not play either I-League or ISL since last year. He was part of the ISL Chennaiyin FC this year but never got featured.
