Pasha delighted with victory after long; Habas: No excuses for the loss

A WIN AFTER FIVE GAMES left the defending champions delighted with the result. Pasha the assistant coach of Chennaiyin FC visbly happy with the victory talked about Raphael Augusto's performance playing a crucial role in the game. He shared,

“Raphael is such a player that you cannot control him. He has so much talent and I think Marco has done a great job in getting his talent out. If you stick him to a job, then he has to do that and he gets restricted but today he had a free role and he fitted in that, and you could see he changed the game. The people who were defending were more worried about Raphael than Davide or Jeje. I think it is the best role for Raphael”

Habas's team, who was also in need of a win to get into the top four spots were beaten in a comphrehensive way by the home side. Habas was asked if the defensive tactics applied by him was the reason for the loss. To which he replied,

"It is not about this system as we won the last two games with the same formation. It is not about defensive tactics but the first goal, which changed the match, as till that moment Chennaiyin did not attack and nothing had happened and after that everything changed,”

The FC Pune City Coach continued saying,

“So, we do not want to give any excuses. We are coming from two tough games and I’ve nothing much to say as Chennaiyin scored two goals and we did not.”

Missed chances that let Chennaiyin down in the game against Kerala, was not the case in the last game. On this subject, Pasha said,

“You see you cannot rely on one goal when you have opponents like Mohamed Sissoko and so many top players. Any one strike can harm us and I think the second goal was very important to seal the game, so hats off to the strikers. We keep getting goals every match and the only thing that we must do now is stay compact”

With every loss of even a single point diminishing hopes of the play off qualification, Habas commented on the way ahead for Pune saying,

"In this league, everyone is very close and Chennaiyin were very low in table but with this win, they have climbed up now. We are not the best team in the world if we win, lose or draw and I would like to congratulate the referee for today’s match. The referee gets ten points for he was perfect and congratulations to Chennaiyin“You know in the second half the team played badly and I think we can improve against Delhi”

Waddoo the experienced Indian defender of Chennaiyin FC was also at the press conference. He answered a question on how was the feeling winning after a long time said,

“I think it is good and we were disciplined to win the game. It’s been a long time we have not won the game, so everyone is excited and everyone gave their best and I would like to thank the almighty.”

Eder Monteiro was handed his first start of the season and speaking on the Brazlian's performance Pasha said,

“He is a very good player and it is unfortunate that we have many good players in that position but I think Marco has done a great job on rotating the players, and at the start Eder was giving away some fouls as it was his first match but once he settled down, he did a great job. He is a commander who is not only a great player but also a great motivator.”
